Help get my paintings from BC to QC.
A few months ago I moved across Canada, back to Quebec (where I grew up) after building a life in BC for the past seven years. My goal with this move is to create more fulfilling opportunities for my art career.
Due to limited funds at the time of moving, I left 3 large paintings of mine at a friend’s in BC. I couldn't bring them on the plane with me, and didn't necessarily need to have them physically with me during the winter months.
Since coming back to QC, I’ve had to keep a very tight budget while I rebuilt my life, figure out the direction I'm taking, and look for work, since my art isn't bringing a fully sustainable income yet. Now I have found a job, Yay! But it’s very part time at the moment and I have life bills to prioritize with that income.
But great news! I have a few art shows lined up in April and May, and will have more coming in the Summer. I'm very optimistic about the income potential from these events.
But for them to truly be successful, I need my bigger paintings with me.
That is why I'm humbly reaching out for support. I need about $400 CAD to ship them safely (packing + insurance + tracking) and give a token of gratitude to my friend for bringing them to the post office for me.
I won't hide that this ask feels extremely vulnerable as I know these times are difficult for many, and art can be seen more as a "luxury" than a "necessity" right now. I also acknowledge that there are much bigger issues at play in the world needing immediate support.
But this is my soul calling, and this relatively small amount would make a world of a difference to allow me to continue creating ripples of beauty and meaning in people's lives through my creations.
My situation is temporary and I'm working every day at stepping into abundance so I can have a true impact on the world, whether from my art, my actions, or by giving back once I have the means to do so.
